Schools in Fairfax County, Virginia, are indoctrinating middle school children with
“gender identity” ideology. Last week, we urged GCAC users to contact school board
members to urge them to NOT adopt a uniform policy affirming the “gender identity” of
trans-identified students, and instead to use the Transgender Trend Resource Pack
for Schools. Now we need users to reach out to local media outlets and DEMAND that
they cover gender-critical perspectives without bias.
What You Can Do
Contact local media outlets, inform them that children are being indoctrinated with a
harmful and dangerous ideology, and DEMAND that they cover gender-critical
perspectives without bias (script and contact info below).
I am writing to alert you to the fact that the Fairfax County school board is considering a proposal to adopt a uniform policy of affirming the self-declared “gender identity” of all students. “Gender identity” is an amorphous term that has no factual basis in science or biology. We expect our school boards to educate children with sound science, not ideology.
The concerns of parents, feminists, doctors, and others who reject the ideology of “gender identity” are rarely reflected in the mainstream media. When gender-critical perspectives are covered, they are typically depicted as hateful and bigoted. This categorization is unfair and is harming our students.
I want schools to use this guide in school policy regarding “gender identity” issues: Transgender Trend Resource Pack for Schools: Supporting Gender Non-Conforming and Trans-Identified Students in School. Page 4 of this guide states: “We provide research‑based evidence and alternative strategies which will help teachers to best support not only the child who identifies as transgender but all children who defy gender and sex-role stereotypes.” This Resource Pack provides a compassionate and inclusive guide which encompasses not only the needs of trans-identified and gender non-conforming students, but all students. It was written for schools in the UK, but the principles and research-based information are universal and readily applicable to US schools, including schools in Fairfax County. Encouraging “transition” in young people is dangerous and can cause life-long physical harm.
Please cover this story. In your coverage, do not denounce gender-critical perspectives as hateful or bigoted. Consider that many people who are speaking out about this are simply concerned for women and girls, and for young people in general.
Thank you and sincerely,
I am [NAME, LOCATION, IF YOU ARE A PARENT OF FCPS STUDENT]
I am gravely concerned about the Fairfax County School Board considering a proposal to adopt a uniform policy that presents “gender identity” as fact. “Gender identity” has no factual basis in science or biology and affirming it as fact can lead to life-long physical and medical harm to students.
I want local media to cover this story, and in your coverage, please do not denounce gender-critical perspectives as hateful or bigoted. Consider that many people who are speaking out about this are simply concerned for women and girls, and for young people in general.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
