This Twitter survey is asking for feedback on a proposed new policy: “You may not dehumanize anyone based on membership in an identifiable group, as this speech can lead to offline harm.” “Dehumanization” is defined as including “reducing groups to their genitalia.” An identifiable group is “Any group of people that can be distinguished by their shared characteristics such as their race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, serious disease, occupation, political beliefs, location, or social practices.” Sex is not included as a group. The ideology of “gender identity” erases and replaces the reality of biological sex.

Survey Questions and Sample Template Answers
How can the dehumanization policy be improved, if at all? (280 character max)
Sample Template #1: This policy discriminates against women. Violence against women is globally rampant and the erasure of sex as a characteristic leads to skewed statistics, biased legislation and other problems that diminish women’s capacity to fight for their civil rights and safety from violence.
Sample Template #2: Twitter punishes women for stating the reality that men are male and women are female. If Twitter considers this dehumanization, then it must apply the same standard to referring to women as “cisgender,” which is a lie, and to calling anyone a TERF (“Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist”), which is a slur.
Are there examples of speech that contributes to a healthy conversation, but may violate this policy? If so, please provide examples. (280 character max)
Sample Template #1: Questioning legislation that replaces sex with “gender identity” as the determining factor of being female or male. Stating that biological sex is pertinent and crucial to women’s and girl’s civil rights and bodily privacy.
Sample Template #2: Questioning whether it is valid to self-identify as the opposite sex contributes to a healthy conversation about women’s rights, children’s rights (to be free of medical intervention) and safeguarding women and girls from male-pattern violence and violation of bodily privacy.
Is there any additional feedback you’d like to provide about the policy? (280 character max)
Sample Template #1: The policy erodes freedom of speech and open, civil discourse on diverse views, which is essential to democracy. By accepting “gender identity” while eliminating biological sex, you enforce conformity to a particular ideology and belief system. Don’t confuse disagreement with hate speech.
Sample Template #2: Twitter has been allowing people who claim to be “transgender” to dehumanize women by calling us “TERFs” (“Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists”), a label that has led to both rape and death threats and to actual physical violence. Any dehumanization policy must apply equally to all.
