Schools in the state of Delaware, at the urging of Governor John Carney, are indoctrinating middle school children with “gender identity” ideology, making it easy for children to self-identify not only their sex (“gender”) but their race without parental consent or even parental notification. Carney initiated this proposal in consultation with local and national “LGBT” organizations, purportedly as an effort to help schools safeguard “protected characteristics” such as gender, age, race, sexual orientation and “gender identity.”
As is becoming customary across America, policies affirming “gender identity” are being implemented in k-12 schools at the expense of most of the schools’ population and against parental protest. State policies are being driven by the major funders of the “gender identity” movement.
The state chapter of the NAACP has strongly objected to the proposal. La Mar T. Gunn, the group’s president, issued a statement against the proposed rule, saying that it “in no way, shape or form should be compared to the 400-plus year fight for equal rights.”
Lisa-Marie Mercaldo, speaking on behalf of La Marr T. Gunn with the Delaware NAACP, gave this public comment:
“Our state and our schools already have laws and policies for anti-bullying, anti-discrimination, whatever other words you want to call it,” said Lisa Mercaldo of Middletown. “Our kids have protections, and if you have an issue with you school, you go to the principal, you go to the school district. The state should have nothing to do with this.”

What You Can Do
Email the governor and school delegates telling them NOT to adopt a uniform policy affirming the “gender and/or racial self-identity” of students without parental notification or consent and then provide them with alternative resources (script and contact info below).
Dear [Governor or school delegate – see names & contacts below],
I am writing to express my intense dissatisfaction with the proposals in Regulation 225.
I am gravely concerned about Delaware school districts adopting a uniform policy that presents “gender identity” as fact. “Gender identity” has no factual basis in science or biology and affirming it as fact can lead to life-long physical and medical harm to students. Adding insult to injury, leading children to the belief that they can change their race and doing so without fully disclosing these actions to parents is both dangerous and beyond appropriate action for states and schools.
I am aware that it is becoming customary across America that “gender identity” advocacy policies are being implemented in k-12 schools under the guise of safety and fairness but at the expense of most of the schools’ population and against parental protest. State policies are being driven by funds coming into the states by the major funders of the “gender identity” movement. I adamantly resist this politically driven agenda and want all students and parents to be included in evaluations of policy changes.
This link will take you to The Transgender Trend School Resource Pack. The principles outlined are well researched and fair and take all students needs into consideration Though it was written for schools in the UK, it is readily applicable to US schools (a US version is coming out soon).
